After purchasing an All Access Pass, log in HERE in order to access the Printable Library. Once you select a printable, click the blue "Download" buttons to save the file(s) to your computer.

NOTE: When you click on the download buttons, nothing will open in a browser window. Instead, files will save directly to your device's Downloads folder.

After you have clicked the "Download" buttons for your files, locate your Downloads folder on your computer or device and look for files beginning with "The Organization Toolbox_".

Move (via drag-and-drop) or re-save the files to your preferred location by opening the file, clicking File > Save As > and selecting your preferred folder.

Repeat with additional downloads.

Some sticker and label files will be delivered via a .zip file. Simply double-click the file to "unzip" it into a folder of individual graphics.

CUSTOMIZING THE PRINTABLES

Most printable pages inside The Organization Toolbox are considered FILLABLE via text boxes that you can click into and change the typing.

NOTE: Not every single heading and title feature fillable text boxes and therefor cannot be changed; however, all open/blank spaces can be typed into.

NOTE: It is highly recommended that you use Adobe Acrobat Reader. Although other PDF readers may work (e.g., Preview on Macs), the formatting and fillable text boxes work best using Adobe products.

How to Type In Your Own Text Into the Printables

  1. Do not open the files in an Internet browser from an email link or download screen. Instead, download the files directly to your device and save in your prefered location.
  2. Open your printable kit in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  3. All of the fillable fields are shown via light blue boxes. Simply click into a blue box and type in your desired text. If there is no light blue box on a specific text/line, then that text/line cannot be changed.
  4. Save the PDF with your added text for future use.

Each text box is pre-formatted to populate text in a specific size, font, color, and alignment. These specifications cannot be changed.

You may use both lowercase and capital letters as you prefer.

If the font does not appear to be populating correctly, ensure you have the correct fonts installed on your computer. The correct fonts can be found on the kit’s cover page.

NOTE: The light blue text fields do not print, so you can leave any and all fields blank as necessary.

If the page is designed in landscape layout, the text boxes are formatted to rotate and print correctly. To edit these pages more easily:

  • Click View > Rotate Counterclockwise in the upper toolbar of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  • Now the page will be orientated so you can easily add your text without craning your neck.
  • Watch this tutorial for more help.

What are these blue boxes all over the printables?

The blue boxes represent fillable text fields. Meaning, anywhere there is a blue box, you can click and type in your own text. If you don’t want to type in your own text, don’t worry; the blue boxes don’t print. So just print out the pages as you normally would and fill them out by hand.

Can I change the text already typed into the printables?

For a majority of the printable kits in The Toolbox, fillable fields are only available on blank lines and spaces where you would write in your own information. As such, most of the words on the printables are set and cannot be changed.

Some kits, like the Recipe Organization Kit, Moving Box Labels, Binder Covers, Magnetic Menu Board, Packing Lists, etc feature fillable titles and categories so they can be easily changed to your liking.

I can't get my full words to fit inside the available text box.

Each fillable text box is only so big, and each one is set not to allow overflow typing for printing purposes. For areas with multiple lines, you will just need to “tab” down to the next line and keep typing. For single-line entries, you will need to abbreviate or shorten your words in order to get them to fit into the pre-sized box.

I can't change the font or color of the text fields.

Yes, that is correct. In order to make the forms fillable, each and every text box has to be given specific text settings, including font, size, and color. As such, these specifications automatically populate when you type in the boxes and cannot be changed.

I'm a Mac user and am using Preview to open and edit the printables. Why does all the text look funny?

Preview is a wonderful and convenient program to view and print your printables. But if you want to add text into the fillable text boxes, it is recommended that you download Adobe Acrobat Reader (for free) instead.

PRINTING

NOTE: It is recommended that you view, edit, and print all files from The Organization Toolbox using Adobe Acrobat Reader (rather than an Internet browser or other PDF viewer).

To Print the Files:

  1. First save the files to your computer as described in the under the Downloading section above.
  2. Find the desired file(s) on your device (usually in the Downloads folder) and open with a PDF reader (Adobe Acrobat Reader is recommended).
  3. If desired, add in any text to the fillable text fields as described in the Customizing the Printables section above.
  4. When ready, load the desired paper into your printer per its instructions, and print the pages at 100% resolution.

You are welcome to send any printable pages to a professional printer for high-quality results. Should you need it, you can access a Print Release HERE.

Several kits in The Organization Toolbox are formatted to print neatly onto various AVERY papers and labels. Use these instructions to get the best results possible:

  1. Do not open the files in an Internet browser. Instead, download the files directly to your device as described in the Downloading section above.
  2. Once downloaded, open the files in a PDF reader (Adobe Acrobat Reader is recommended).
  3. Before printing, add any desired text to the blue fillable text fields on the labels or stickers.
  4. When ready to print, load the corresponding AVERY paper into your printer according to package/printer directions.
  5. Print the pages you want at 100% resolution.

NOTE: If you don’t want to use the suggested AVERY products, you can always print onto plain sticker paper and cut/punch out the labels with a punch, scissors, paper trimmer, or e-cutter machine (e.g, Cricut, Silhouette, Scan-n-Cut).

Accordion pane content

Because I print so frequently for both personal and business use, I use a color laser printer. Not only do I get fast printing in gorgeous color; but the toner, while expensive, last much longer than inkjet cartridges.

That said, I realize laser printers aren't the right solution for every person or household. So I've also researched budget-friendly inkjet options for craft and household needs. I have the printer I use and some other well-rated options linked up for you HERE.

Since I'm in the business of making printables, you better bet I've tested a lot of papers and labels. You can shop my absolute tried-and-true favorites by clicking HERE.

The margins of my printables seem really off.

When you send your files to print, be sure you select “100%” in the resolution option.

The 1" circle stickers didn't print correctly at all!

The 1″ Circle stickers can be a little stubborn to get printed right. Please refer to the detailed instructions on this post.

Is there a way to print pages on a 1/2 sheet?

All of the printables in The Toolbox are designed and formatted to fit US 8.5×11″ paper when printed. If you would like to try printing them to fit on a half sheet, refer to this tutorial.

I'd rather get my files professionally printed. Can I do that?

Absolutely you can. Just print off this print release ahead of time in case there is concern about your printing rights.

Whoa - some of these files are colorful! How can I save on printer ink?

I offer both color and black-and-white versions of most Toolbox downloads. If ink color is a concern, I recommend printing just cover/speciality pages in color, and the rest in black-and-white or grayscale.

If you don't want to use your home printer, you are also welcome to send files to a print shop for professional printing.
